The EH3 Electric Car: A Formidable Contender to Rival the Tesla Model 3

In an ambitious collaboration, Chery and Huawei are uniting their expertise to create an electric vehicle that aims to rival the exceptional popularity of the Tesla Model 3. Known by its codename EH3, this remarkable car has been unveiled in its full glory through China’s renowned social media platform, Weibo.

Anticipation is building as the EH3 electric car is poised for an imminent official launch. According to reputable sources at Carscoops, the first glimpse of this electric marvel emerged on Weibo, shared by none other than Yu Chengdong, the CEO of Huawei’s Intelligent Automotive Solution BU.

Yu Chengdong, in his Weibo post, referred to the EH3 electric car as an electrifying coupe. A quick glance at the circulated images reveals the EH3’s unmistakable aura of luxury and premium craftsmanship.

The EH3 boasts an avant-garde front grille, characterized by sleek LED lights arranged in an elongated, slender pattern. Notably futuristic in appearance, this design element signifies a bold step forward in automotive aesthetics. Carscoops observed that this vehicle resembles a four-door sedan with a sleek, low roofline.

The images shared by Yu Chengdong allude to the latest rendition of the Luxeed electric car. The synergy between Chery and Huawei holds the promise of a contender that can challenge the dominance of the world’s best-selling electric car, the Tesla Model 3.

Chery and Huawei’s joint efforts have resulted in an array of advanced technologies being integrated into the Luxeed, according to information from Carscoops. A notable inclusion is the adoption of Huawei’s HarmonyOS 4 software, amplifying the vehicle’s connectivity prowess with smartphones and other electronic devices, particularly those manufactured by Huawei.

Chery’s involvement in the vehicle’s creation extends to the provision of the E0X platform, a foundation that underpins the Luxeed’s structural integrity. This platform has previously served as the base for Chery’s luxury electric offerings such as the Sterra ES and Sterra ET.

The Luxeed electric car is poised to make its mark with a battery supplied by CATL, capable of an impressive 700-kilometer range on a full charge. This battery’s extensive capacity is a testament to the Luxeed’s endurance and commitment to sustainability.

Safety has been paramount in the Luxeed’s development, with Huawei contributing the cutting-edge ADS 2.0 security technology. This advanced system harnesses the power of LiDAR, eleven high-definition cameras, twelve ultrasonic radars, and three radar waves. These innovations empower the Chery-Huawei collaboration to navigate autonomously and with remarkable precision.

Yu Chengdong has confirmed that the collaboration’s groundbreaking electric vehicle is scheduled for a later-year debut. A remarkable twist lies in the vehicle’s pricing strategy—a surprise to many. The Luxeed electric car, borne from the partnership between Chery and Huawei, is set to be more affordable than the Tesla Model 3.

Preliminary estimates indicate a price point of USD 27,803, which translates to approximately IDR 421.9 million. A sharp contrast to the prevailing cost of the Tesla Model 3, currently priced within the range of USD 40,240 or roughly IDR 610.4 million.
