Volkswagen’s Limited Edition Golf R: Sold Out in Just 8 Minutes

Recently, Volkswagen astounded car enthusiasts with the release of their latest limited edition vehicle. The response was overwhelming as the entire stock sold out within a mere eight minutes after the order window opened.

According to Carscoops, Volkswagen collaborated with Golf Performance to officially launch the Volkswagen Golf R, which is a special edition car with a production limit of only 333 units, exclusively available to consumers in Germany.

The price tag for this exclusive Volkswagen Golf R is set at 81,833 billion, equivalent to approximately Rp. 1.2 billion. What’s truly fascinating is that this hot hatchback model sold out in just eight minutes, averaging an impressive 42 vehicles sold per minute.

The new model of the Volkswagen hot hatch comes in an eye-catching Lime Yellow Metallic paint, accentuated by a black roof and black Estoril 19-inch wheels equipped with semi-slick tires. Additional features include LED Matrix headlights, “333” graphics, and an Akrapovic exhaust system with titanium silencers.

Notable highlights of the Volkswagen Golf R include Nappa leather sport seats, a premium Harman Kardon audio system, carbon fiber-like trim, and a distinctive serial number badge on the dashboard.

Hakim Halimi, the Head of Product Marketing for Volkswagen R, stated, “The Golf R 333 is the first R model for which we have set specific specifications. This ensures that all consumer desires for power are fulfilled, thanks to the additional supporting equipment.” This statement was taken from an official Volkswagen announcement.

In terms of performance, the Golf R is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine capable of generating 329 horsepower and 420 Nm of peak torque, which is distributed to all four wheels. This impressive car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 270 km/h.

One noteworthy feature included in this car is the R-Performance Torque with Vehicle Dynamics Manager. It not only distributes power between the front and rear axles but also between the individual wheels, providing drivers with an exceptional sensation when cornering.

Production of all Volkswagen Golf R models will commence in September this year, with the first units expected to be delivered to customers in October. All buyers will have the opportunity to collect their ordered vehicles in Wolfsburg, Germany.
