Safety cars play a crucial role in racing events, and fans worldwide are always eager to know which manufacturer is responsible for providing the best model. In the world of Formula 1 (F1), two brands, Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin, are trusted to provide the safety cars. Aston Martin’s Vantage F1 Edition sports car and the DBX707 SUV serve as the Medical Car.

Recently, Aston Martin unveiled an updated version of the DBX707, inspired by the model that serves as the medical car in F1. Due to the high interest among consumers, this special edition model is now available for purchase.

According to Aston Martin CEO Lawrence Stroll, the Vantage F1 Edition sports car was a huge success, generating sales of 300-400 units. “I couldn’t believe it, but we really did: race on Sunday, sell on Monday. The number may seem small, but for a company of our size, it matters,” Stroll said.

The Vantage F1 Edition is the fastest and most maneuverable of all Aston Martin models, designed to lead the line and set the pace when an accident occurs in an F1 race. It comes with an aerodynamic kit that adds 441 lbs (200 kg) of downforce, a strengthened chassis, improved dampers and suspension, and an upgraded engine capable of producing 527 hp (393 kW/535 PS), 25 hp (18 kW/25 PS) more than the standard Vantage model.

Stroll also revealed that all Vantage consumers expressed a keen interest in acquiring the F1 edition version. However, to get the Safety Car F1 twin car, they would have to pay an additional fee of USD 200,000 or the equivalent of IDR 2.96 billion.

If all Vantage consumers opt for the special edition, Aston Martin stands to generate USD 80 million or the equivalent of IDR 1.1 trillion in sales. This is significant for the company as it helps finance its F1 team, which requires funds of 135 million dollars or the equivalent of IDR 2 trillion per year.
