The Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) is an annual automotive exhibition where various brands launch and announce their newest car models and prices.
The event will run from March 10 to 19, 2023, at the JCC, Senayan, Central Jakarta. As many as 19 car brands belonging to Gaikindo will appear at GJAW 2023.
According to Yohannes Nangoi, the General Chair of Gaikindo, this event will provide the best opportunity for the public to shop for automotive products and take advantage of various promos for car transactions and aftermarket products.
Here are some cars that will be launched or have their official prices announced at the GJAW 2023:
- Subaru Crosstrek Subaru Indonesia will launch a new car during the event. This new car will be a compact SUV, but the exact model has not been revealed yet. Ismail Ashlan, the Marketing & Communication Manager of Subaru Indonesia, stated that the New Indonesia Premiere SUV will be introduced on March 10, 2023, at 14:30 WIB. In his presentation material, Ismail showed a silhouette of the new car, but only the headlights were visible. However, it is predicted that this latest SUV will be the Subaru Crosstrek. The Crosstrek SUV is available in two engine options, namely the 2,000cc 4-cylinder Boxer engine and the 2,500cc 4-cylinder Boxer engine.
- Nissan Terra Facelift The launch invitation received by Tempo confirmed the presence of the Nissan Terra Facelift at the event. The model that will be released is the New Nissan Terra VL 2.5 (4X4). The launch of the latest Terra will take place on March 10, 2023, at 15:00 WIB, at the Cendrawasih Hall, Booth C4, JCC Senayan. The Nissan Terra Facelift will feature a 2,500cc engine that produces 188 HP and 450 Nm of power. This large SUV will compete with several rivals in its class, such as the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
- Toyota Agya The Toyota Agya was launched on February 13, but the price was not announced at the time. According to PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM), the price will be announced during the GJAW 2023 event. The All-New Agya is equipped with a new engine coded WA-VE, 3 cylinders, with a capacity of 1,200cc. This engine configuration is capable of producing 86.7 HP of power and 113 Nm of torque.
- Suzuki Grand Vitara Suzuki’s newest SUV, the Grand Vitara, made its debut at the IIMS 2023 event in February. The selling price of this SUV will be announced at the GJAW 2023 event. A salesperson from one of the official Suzuki dealers revealed that the Grand Vitara will be priced at Rp. 300 million to Rp. 350 million. When compared to its rivals, such as the Honda HR-V and Creta, these two cars are still priced at IDR 300 million.
