Hyundai Preparing to Launch Electric Version of Creta SUV

Hyundai, the renowned South Korean automaker, is reportedly planning to introduce an electric version of its Creta SUV, also known as Hyundai ix25, in India. The company has been testing the Creta EV for some time, and it is speculated to hit the Indian market in late 2024 or early 2025.

Spotting the upcoming Creta EV on the Chennai Bangalore Expressway without any camouflage during the testing phase has sparked rumors about the SUV’s release. Observers noted that the car was seen without a muffler or radiator, indicating that Hyundai is making serious efforts to develop an electric version of the Creta.

Expected Features of the Creta Electric Vehicle

The Creta EV will likely have a similar design to the fuel-based Creta. However, there might be some cosmetic changes to the exterior and interior of the electric version. The battery pack of the new SUV will likely be sourced from the Kona EV, which features a 100 kW electric motor capable of generating 136 hp and 395 Nm of torque.

According to reports, the Creta EV can cover a distance of 400 km on a single charge, making it an attractive option for those looking for a long-range electric SUV.

Hyundai’s Plans for the Creta Electric Version

While Hyundai has not yet released any official details about the Creta EV, it is clear that the automaker is serious about entering the electric car market. The company has already launched the Kona Electric in India and is expected to introduce more electric vehicles in the future.

The launch of the Creta EV will further strengthen Hyundai’s position in the Indian market, where electric cars are becoming increasingly popular. With the Creta already being one of the best-selling SUVs in India, the electric version is likely to receive a warm welcome from consumers.
