According to the Vice President Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM), Henry Tanoto, the All New RAV4 GR Sport PHEV is a realization of the company’s commitment to sustainability. With this vehicle, Toyota is expanding the selection of GR variants with electrification technology, providing more excitement in driving while embodying an environmentally friendly lifestyle.

Innovative Design and Safety Features

The RAV4 GR Sport PHEV is designed with both aesthetics and safety in mind. The car comes equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) active safety feature package, 7-airbags, ISOFIX, 360-degree camera, and VSC, among other features. Additionally, the interior and exterior are fitted with accessories bearing the official Gazoo Racing label.

Power and Performance

As far as performance is concerned, the RAV4 GR Sport PHEV is equipped with a 2,500 cc 4-cylinder engine with 301.7 horsepower and a maximum torque of 227 Nm. The PHEV system combines with this configuration, offering a driving mode that utilizes only the electric motor. With a full battery charge, the vehicle can travel up to 65 kilometers while maintaining a speed of up to 135 km/hour, providing an exhilarating electric car driving sensation.

Furthermore, the RAV4 GR Sport PHEV boasts a record acceleration of 0-100 km/h in just about 6 seconds, owing to the combined power supply from the engine and electric motor. Additionally, the car is highly economical, with a fuel efficiency of 100 kilometers per liter of gasoline.

Looking Ahead

Though the RAV4 GR Sport PHEV is not yet available for sale, Marketing Director of PT TAM, Anton Jimmi Suwandy, has stated that the company is currently preparing for type tests and other necessary registrations. The company plans to release sales and pricing information in two months’ time. In Indonesia, the current choice for a PHEV is the Mitsubishi Outlander, priced at IDR 898 million.
